How Many Coats?

Smooth Walls

As a rule of thumb, if you are changing colors, you need two coats.

If you are keeping the same color, one coat should be fine.

We do not guarantee coverage for any color and leave the final decision to the homeowner.

Textured Walls

On textured walls (knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, etc), deep areas are subject to being missed. The heavier the texture, the more missed spots (or “white dots”). These are usually filled in with a second coat when changing colors, even when the change is just one or two shades.

Please read our blog post from April 1st (and no it is not an April fool's day joke) on why you might need 2 coat.
